New Bill? Here are some reasons why this could happen ...

Anticipated Aid Rolled Off

Anticipated Aid rolled off all accounts on February 15th in preparation for the Summer and Fall terms.  This could trigger a perceived new balance for the Spring as Anticipated Aid is no longer factored in as an expected payment.  It may not be too late to obtain these funds.  Click here to review the reasons why this happens and take steps to complete any missing documents as soon as possible.

Florida Bright Futures and Drop/Adds

Bright Futures funds depend on enrollment.  Now that the financial aid census date has passed, some students may have experienced an increase or a decrease in Bright Futures funds.  Learn more about how Bright Futures amounts are determined here and contact our team if you have any questions.  Click here to learn more.

Census Date and Aid Awards

The financial aid Census Date is a standard date each college/university must establish to take an official snapshot of enrollment for federal financial aid regulation compliance purposes.  Students’ number of enrolled credits captured on the Census Date could have implications on students’ aid eligibility for that semester and beyond as aid must be adjusted accordingly.  Learn more here.

Other Reasons …

There are many other reasons why you could have received a new billing notice, including new parking tickets, housing changes, meal plan changes, etc.  Review your Account Activity to see an itemized breakdown and understand your bill.

Impact on Registration

Registration for Summer 2022 and Fall 2022 begins on April 4thclick here to understand the registration schedule—so it’s important you satisfy any lingering balances as soon as possible to avoid any financial holds as these holds will prevent you from registering, adding, dropping, ordering transcripts, etc.  Learn more about holds here.

Miss the 2/1/22 FAFSA Priority Deadline?

fafsa

The priority deadline for continuing students to submit the FAFSA for the 2022-2023 academic year was February 1, 2022.  If you missed this date, don’t fret!  You can still submit your FAFSA and you will still be considered for financial aid.  Click here to learn more.

Note: Financial aid awards for the 2022-2023 academic year will not be officially sent to you until the Summer, and aid awards for Summer 2022 will not be released until closer to the end of this semester.  Stay tuned for more information.
