Holds may appear on students’ accounts for various reasons, and some holds may impact students’ ability to register, obtain transcripts, receive diplomas, etc. It is the students’ responsibility to take required actions in order to prevent and/or remove such holds so they avoid any impact.
Click here to learn more about common holds, how to view them, and what steps you must take to remove them. Our recommendation is that you check your account today to remedy any holds that may already be applied, and that you continue to check your account regularly and up through your registration appointment time in case any other holds get applied in the meantime. If a hold is there, don’t delay, act right away.
The Last Day to Drop a Course (with a “W”) is coming up. Students who have questions about how dropping a course may impact their financial aid (e.g., Bright Futures, Benacquisto, Satisfactory Academic Progress, etc.) should consult with a ’Canes Central team member. Students may also consult with their Academic Advisor or Program Director if they have any concerns about how such a decision may impact their graduation plan.
It’s not too late for students who applied for graduation to request edits to their name as it will appear on their diploma. Our recommendation is to submit such requests by the day grades are released to ensure such changes can be processed on time for the conferral of degrees.
How can you edit your diploma name, you ask? Click here.

Financial aid packages for Summer 2022 will not be issued out until closer to the beginning of the Summer 2022 semester, typically after the release of the Summer 2022 bill as the financial aid team must confirm enrollment and corresponding charges to process awards. Thus, we recommend you register for your Summer 2022 courses as soon as you are able and that you remember to register at least half/part-time—remember that you must be enrolled courses that count towards your degree requirements—to meet your eligibility requirements.
