Our aim is for students to focus on their academic endeavors, which can be accomplished by anticipating important events and proactively completing administrative responsibilities.
This Fall 2024 Preparation Guide is designed to provide you with the information you need to transition into the Fall semester seamlessly. Get the “Word” around campus by thoroughly reviewing the information below and acting now so you can focus on your academics from Day 1.
Charges have been populated onto the Fall 2024 bill, and first billing notices have been released and will continue to go out each Monday until the bill is paid. Click here.

While fee requirements vary by academic career, optional fees require timely action on behalf of students each semester. Please review your optional fees tab in Canelink to learn which fees you are able to waive. Please be sure to ready each option as some are to opt-into a fee while other opt-out (Ex: The Athletic fee cannot be refunded once you opt-in) The Canes Course Pack is a new fee that provides students with access to their required course materials at the start of each semester. Review your cost of attendance in CaneLink to see if your tuition category reflects your actual tuition charges, and, if not, submit the 2024-2025 Grad/Law Tuition COA Request Form if you wish to pursue additional aid. Click here.
You only need your 2022 taxes to easily submit the new FAFSA and meet this deadline! Click here. The 2024-2025 FAFSA application is currently available but the priority date past. If you have not submitted your FAFSA already please do so as soon as possible to avoid any further delay in receiving your aid package. Also, keep in mind that the FAFSA application has changed. Any questions that you have concerning the application, please reach out to studentaid.gov customer service for assistance. 'Canes Central is not able to assist with filling out the FAFSA application.
Federal aid cannot apply to all charges without the completion of these permissions so a refund may be issued. Click here.
Aid will be listed on the bill as anticipated until disbursement begins, which typically begins 10 days before the start of the semester, and/or pending documents are completed. In order to receive your aid you will need to maintain a Full-time course load, to have institutional and state aid (EASE Grant) applied, and a minimum of part-time courseload to allow federal aid to disburse. You should be in the appropiate course load by the last day to add a class to avoid any issue. Learn more.

Check your UM email and, when prompted, submit your ID photo online by the 7/25/24 deadline. Click here. Further communication will continue weekly until photos have been submitted. Cane card pickup locations will be sent after the deadline.
